I am working on my play list for the 10k so if you have any song suggestions, nothing slow please, leave a comment! All types of music would be great, I love it all!
TYPICAL by Mute Math (a favorite of mine right now), FAMILY AFFAIR By Mary J. Blige, ENJOY THE SILENCE by Depeche Mode and BRAVE by Nichole Nordeman are the four I have so far! I'm gonna work on it tonight after my Birthday party so please leave a song in the comments! Hopefully I will not need a TON of songs because I will be done running before I can hear them all! RIGHT?! :)
Country, Pop, R&B, Rock, Christian, anything! I would love to hear from you runners!
It just hit me! I usually quit stuff I start and I set this goal for the 10k several months ago and doubted my ability to run it. But look, I am following through! I have trained for it, I deserve to be there. I can do it! My body is ready! Praise the Lord!

Great attitude, first of all! Because, YES! You do deserve this!
Song: Paralyzer - love it for running!
Awesome job! I am proud of you for setting and meeting your goal! Have a blast at your party!
Love you!

What type of running shoes do you wear?
I looked back through my running list on my iPod and here are a few ideas...
Thousand Foot Krutch- they are pretty hard core, but they are AWESOME to run to. When I first started running 5 years ago, all I had was a CD player and this CD was the only thing I ran to. Since then I've added other things, but still have them on my iPod.
In The Name Of Love- Album from different Christian artists singing U2 songs with awesome arrangements. The beat is a little faster which is perfect for running. I always have "Beautiful Day" for my last big hill. It totally pumps me up!
Nicole C. Mullen -"Butterfly"
*Anything* from .38 Special
Jennifer Knapp
Third Day
Keith Urban
Dixie Chicks- "Not Ready To Make Nice"
Jay-Z & Linkin Park - "Numb"
Love it for running :)
P.O.D. - "Alive"
Hope this helps. I started my "running" adventures training for a 10K race and I had never run before in my life. I started training because a friend taunted me and I was hooked. Just like you, it completely changed me, inside and out! This race is against yourself...nobody else. You will love it!! The adrenaline and the encouragment are awesome and so different from our daily lives as mommas.
Good luck Amanda....and have fun!
p.s.
I have Nichole's "Brave" song too ;) My husband always puts surprise songs on my iPod, which I love and they usually crack me up. Ask your hubby to put a couple on there for ya!
Is it your birthday today?? If so Happy day! Enjoy your party.
Clearly I've been living under a rock- I'm hearing Amy Winehouse for the first time here on your blog. :) I like it.
I'm a big fan of Erasure- they have a lot of fast stuff that would be fun to run to. Not that I run. But you are inspiring. I keep thinking I should start.
I really like "Here Is Our King" by David Crowder Band. I love all types of music.
I often think that just getting to the starting line of a race is a victory (the training and sacrifices required to get to that point), so no matter what your time is on Sunday, I am proud of you!
Song.. I will not be moved .. the new one by Natalie Grant... its awesome! Please post pics and let us know how it goes. I PRAY someone gets one of your face as you cross that finish line. You are going to do awesome!
The running shoes I use, the ones I LOVE, the ones I have never had an issue with, the ones that I think are the best!
ASICS GT 2110 (IGS) gel
They are last year's model and are usually around $100.00 but I got them on sale!
Also, make sure you buy a size bigger or even a size and a half if you plan on running seriously. Your feet swell, etc. I usually wear an 8 but run in a 9. I think your shoes are usually good for about 400 miles. I will be getting new ones after this race!
