My iPod and my tennis shoes

Six more moons until my 10K! Josiah doesn't count days, he counts moons. So the moon countdown has begun!

I went for a quick run tonight. My "time" for the 10K was decided probably two weeks ago. There is nothing I can really do this week to enhance the results so I am taking it easy. I got a call today from a friend trying to convince me to run a marathon in November. HA! I've already planned on training for the half marathon at the same race but sixteen weeks of training for a marathon does not seem doable with what is on my plate. But if she is flying to Texas for this and our friend Kate decides to come and run too, then maybe I will! I'm praying about it so I will see what happens. Jeremy told me tonight he would support me if I decided to "go the distance" and that's a big plus since Saturday mornings would be him taking care of the kids while I did my long runs. Regardless, I am committed to the half marathon!! Wendy and Kate are both homeschooling Moms and we all three have a lot of kids (Kate has the most) so they would be my inspiration for sure! Every single time I think about running a marathon, I can't help but to think of the song BRAVE by Nichole Nordeman. Whether or not it's in November or some other time in my life, it is a dream I look forward to fulfilling!

Even though my run tonight was short, it was a great run. My time with the Lord was awesome! My iPod has quite a variety of music and I love the shuffle mode. It's fun not knowing what song will play next. Natalie Grant's THE REAL ME really empowered me as I ran. God is doing so much in my life right now and I feel like He is about to redeem so much pain from the past. I feel like I am finally becoming the woman He created me to be, THE REAL ME. Then one of my favorites, BE THOU MY VISION by The Cambridge Singers. The words to this beautiful hymn has always brought so much peace to my heart. I can't help but to thank God so much for my iPod and my tennis shoes. Those two things have enriched my time with him more than I ever imagined. Still be my vision, O Ruler of all!

Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

It would be awesome to run it together! Training takes so much time, it is definitely a commitment. That is awesome that Jeremy said he would support you - that is huge. I'll keep praying about it too. :)
