something about Jeremy

At this moment I am totally crazy over the Rolling Stones. Yes, I know they have been around forever and my Dad has been crazy for their music my whole life but I'm just now hooked. Last night when I was running, Gimme Shelter, came on my iPod and I swear to you I felt like I could run forever!

When I met Jeremy I knew I had to get a hold of his cd collection and see what he had. It would be the true test of our compatibility. If we did not like the same music, our foundation would be a total flop. Well, I doubt that. His good looks had me at first sight and there was no way I was walking away from that sexy smile! Woo! Anyway. One afternoon I was in his apartment waiting for him to get home. It was in the early, early days of dating and since we got engaged two months after meeting, you know it was early. So like any girlfriend would do, I started getting into his stuff and found the cd's. Oh and let me back up for a second. Jeremy was the first guy I had ever dated that was my own age. Seriously, every guy I dated was at least five years older and usually more than that. The cool thing about being with Jeremy was we grew up on the same stuff. He was a child of the seventies and eighties and so was I. Plus our parents were both very young when they had us so we had so much to relate to when it came to our upbringing. That was good and bad. :)

I knew my husband would have to be obsessed with the Dallas Cowboys and could not, no way in heck be a fan of ANY team in the NFC, especially NFC east or my Dad would not be their friend. When I found out Jeremy was just as crazy as me and my Dad over the Cowboys, I knew he was a keeper. Oh and my Dad warned me about marrying someone that wasn't from Texas. "You have to marry a Texan!" (My Dad wanted me to marry Troy Aikman but since I couldn't get him to look my way, that dream was shot. Thankfully, I found something better than Troy Aikman!) Then on that afternoon in his apartment when I found the cd collection, it was over! HE WAS MINE! As soon as I opened it and saw CCR, Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, George Strait, Poison, Steve Miller, Eagles and The Black Crowes, I knew we could make music together. :)

So there you have it! I'm spending lots of time listening to Jeremy's cd collection and getting it all on my iPod. It's nice to think back to all the reasons, even the little ones, of why I fell head over heels for this man. I love that man so much!

I love you Babe and I am so proud of where God has taken you in your career. I know you never had a Dad to tell you how proud he is of you, but I pray you will know how much your Heavenly Father is proud. I thank God for you daily. How did I get so blessed to have you for my husband and best friend?! I love you. And thank the Lord you are a Texan, you love the Cowboys and GOOD music!
