potpourri of thoughts

After being at our church for almost a year and a half, we still love our church. It's not perfect. What church is? Usually when things come up that freak me out a little about church, I get the urge to go somewhere else. I have NEVER wanted to leave my church. That's growth for me for sure. I'm a flighter. Or maybe I should say "former flighter".

Our church is growing like crazy. Sunday while I was singing, I could not believe my eyes. Every chair was taken and they were adding more chairs. The nursery was so full, the workers were calling for back up. What a great problem to have! Right? Sunday morning I realized how incredible it was to be a part of something that is growing and moving. These people have changed my life and I believe that is why God continues to bless our church with more faces. People are being healed, changed and loved like never before. Our leadership is relentless when it comes to showing people how much they are loved. I get goose bumps just thinking about!

Friday night we are finally visiting a small group! It's led by one of my best friends and her husband. Heidi and Bret are very close friends of ours and we owe it to ourselves to try their group. We love them like family and I know they love us the same so I am looking forward to getting out and spending time with friends over food and God's Word. And we do this without kids!! Woo hoo! Childcare is provided by the church! So it will almost be like a date! Gotta love that! Couples we have spent a lot of time with are all in this group so I think it will be a lot of fun. I am soooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to just being out of the house and spending time with friends.

Being at home so much has been great but since my personality is charged by being around others, it's also been hard. My friends have rallied behind me and are making me get out tomorrow for a play date and lunch with some Moms. It will change our schedule tomorrow but we need it. It will be a blast!

On Tuesdays I am keeping my friend's four year old son and picking up his six year old from school in the afternoon. It's an extra $160 a month and the kids love having these boys here. The four year old just does school with us and it actually works great! My friend picks them up around 5:30pm. The day flies by! So today it's been busy but fun!

Thursday I am having a breakfast at my house for a couple of Moms. Something about Fall makes me love hosting! A few weeks ago I put the date on my calender and now I can't believe it's here!

I'm tired from homeschool, running, housework and being a Mom. But I am loving every bit of it. I truly feel like a new person right now. Being in the center of "God's will" will do that for you!

So much to be thankful for!
