I just got done crying my eyes out. Josiah told me today that I am a mean Mommy and a rude teacher. Ava Beth told me I am not her best friend anymore. Thank goodness my baby can't say those words or my Mom of the year award would for sure be stripped. Josiah has thrown my own teaching my way today. "You are not using patience. That is a fruit of the spirit you need to use." At one point, Josiah and I were BOTH crying.
The afternoon has been very hard. Today is a day I feel like a crappy Mom.
Thankfully my friend Jill just showed up at my door with a plate of brownies and saw that I had been crying. She then shared a feud she had with her six year old daughter yesterday and assured me tomorrow would be a better day. It's nice to know I am not alone.

I'm a lurker...but I had to come out of "lurkdom" to comment on this post! I have been there!! The first year of homeschooling is so hard. I think my son or myself cried at least once a day our first year. Now, in our 9th year (he's in 8th grade), my son and I sat together and worked on some English work and laughed our heads off at some sentences we were making. It gets so much easier! I just wanted to encourage you to hang in there. You are not alone!! And tomorrow will be a new day....
You are NOT alone! On the first day of school this year my 4 year old told me that he didn't want to do school at home with me, he wants to go to big school. He's repeated that a few times since then and it hurts. I think we can all say, we've been there. Parenting and Homeschooling are both HUGE learning curves. In a lot of ways we're learning too. ((HUGS)) and know that you ARE an awesome mom and teacher. I will be praying for you.
Thank you for being real with your day today. You are not alone!
I love you!
Hugs to you Mandi. Heres to hoping tomorrow is a better day.
Oh, I am so sorry you had this rough day, but so grateful you shared it. Things have been rough here the past few days, too, and I needed encouragement that we all feel like a bad mommy sometimes.
So glad your friend stopped by and encouraged you... and will be praying that tomorrow is a better day:-)
I can't even imagine how you do it. Don't be too hard on yourself. I know you are doing a great job.
It is never easy when your children use your words on you. You have done it to me many times.:)
I love you.

Hey girl this is how I have felt for a week with my son... AND he can say enough to make me feel like a crappy mommy BUT I gotta deal with the fit throwing... I am going to email you about it for advice...
hope today is a better day.
Hey there girl! Just wanted to tell you that you are AMAZING! We have all been there. I am Emma's girl scout leader, and I actually had to send her to time-out today in the middle of our meeting. It stank.
SO, I am offering up my need for patience to get pregnant again for your need for patience in this season. God is faithful. Have you heard that song, Empty Me? LOVE it!!
