You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, To the end that my tongue and my heart and everything glorious within me may SING praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever. Psalm 30:11-12

Christmas Tradition continues
And since our Christmas card picture has already been chosen and printed (hoping snapfish gets them to me on times this year), I decided to not worry about having Ava Beth's hair fixed with a pretty bow. In fact all three kids were fresh out of the tub!
I wanted to have the presents wrapped and under the tree for this picture but they remain hidden instead of wrapped. I wanted Ezekiel's nose to not be running but it did. I wanted them to all look at the camera and smile at the exact same time and they did! THEY DID! I wanted Ava Beth's hair fixed! Did I say that already? But like I said before. The Christmas card is done and this picture will not be on it. So there was no pressure behind this picture! And if they would have jumped out of the tub grumpy, we would have tried again tomorrow night. But they didn't! They were in picture taking mode! SO RARE! Do you see what success you have when you don't HAVE to have the picture for a Christmas card?!! It was for my tradition I started when Josiah was a baby. It was for their tradition they better keep up with their kids! :)
It's done! We did it! Another Christmas in the famous Christmas pajamas!! GOOOOOOOOO TEAM!
Now our celebration of Advent tonight (I forgot about it last night. It's supposed to be on Sunday nights) did not go as smoothly. Ezekiel was pointing and screaming at my Dallas Cowboys tshirt I was wearing, "Foot bah! Foot bah! Foot bah!" At least we know he will be the athlete in the family. Then when I began to read part of our bible story tonight, Josiah wanted to know if the angel of the Lord said to the shepherds, "Do not be rude or do not be afraid?" Seriously. Where does this boy come up with this stuff? Then Jeremy explained that it was time to pray and Ava Beth decided she wanted to pray and pray FIRST. So she began her prayer with her eyes open and noticed Josiah's eyes were open. It went something like this.
Ava Beth "Dear Jesus. JOSIAH, CLOSE YOUR EYES! I am praying! That's rude to open your eyes."
Josiah "Ava Beth your eyes are open and you are praying and your eyes should be closed, not my eyes. The prayerer closes their eyes."
Finally we finished. Then it was time to light the candles, pray one more time and then fuss over who blows the candles out. There were only two lit tonight so that was easy! Thankfully Baby Zeke did not protest and was perfectly fine with his brother and sister blowing out the candles.
And someday I will think of this night when I am old and grey and long to have it back. You better believe I soaked every single bit of it up! I love my family.

Where did you get those pajama's? They are absolutely adorable!
Hey Amanda!
It's been a while since I've left a comment but I wanted to let you know that I love seeing how God is at work in your life!
I'm currently a part of a Bible study called, "Discerning the Voice of God" by Priscilla Shirer. It's an awesome study and focuses on anticipating God's voice concerning very specific issues in our life (always in accordance with scripture, of course!). I just wanted to encourage you that, through your blog, I see you living that out in your life as a Mom and as a Christian-- as the Lord speaks to you, giving you creative ideas, picking out worship songs, etc. It's awesome, sister!
Keep pressin' on! GOD IS SO GOOD!! :):)
Take care--
Jamie
They look great! So big!!!!!! :)
I love your Advent moment - it sounds kind of similar to me reading the Christmas Story last night OVER Luke's screaming TRAIN! :)
I love the jammie pictures. The kids did well. WOW, Zeke looks so big now. No more baby. I think he looks so much like you. They are all beautiful babies!
Merry Christmas to your little family.
Precious! I love those pj's too. My favorite pictures are the ones that tell the story ;)
LOVE the pj's!! Where did you get them? We always do the PJ thing, and usually send out the picture with our cards but this year I am behind!
Too funny about the advent story! We were going to do that this year but decided to wait one more year until they, at least the oldest one, could understand a little better. My middle child would probably try to eat the candle! :)
LOVE the advent story. That is too cute. I laughed out loud when I read this. :)
Your babies are so cute. Love the matching pajama's!
I love their smiles in these pics...you can hear them giggle all the way in Oklahoma! God is at work with his on earth miracles...with each of their hearts!
Hugs to you! k
