Christmas

I realize these are not Christmas pictures but all the pictures we took on Christmas morning were lost! Long story but it has to do with a camera that we had to take back. :( I do have a lot of pictures on my blackberry so as soon as I can figure out how to work that, I can share some pictures and I have some from my Mom's camera.

We had a great Christmas! Christmas Eve my Mom and James came in town for the night. After stuffing ourselves with homemade tortilla soup, we opened presents from MiMi and PawPaw. Then we read to the kids about the birth of Jesus with our nativity scene on hand. It was nice to talk about the three kings and Jeremy hold up the three kings. :) Then it was time to put out the cookies and milk for Santa and the reindeer food for the reindeer. We started a tradition a few years ago at our old house with Santa's sleigh bells being heard while putting out the reindeer food. We tracked Santa on the NORAD radar first. :) PawPaw went to the front yard while we put the reindeer food in the backyard (the dogs eat the reindeer food) and as we set the reindeer food out (marshmallows), we heard bells. The kids jumped and instantly RAN to their beds. It was so much fun!! We know the fun imaginary part of Christmas will not last forever so it's exciting right now while they still believe.

After the kids went to bed, Daddy began to set out the Santa toys. I bought Jeremy a new knife for Christmas so like any manly man, he wanted to use it to cut the toys out of the boxes. Any parent knows how the toy manufacturers these days wire them to the boxes making it very difficult to get out. Well, Jeremy figured it would be no problem with his new knife but he sliced his thumb open! At midnight we were at North Austin Medical center getting his thumb sewn up with four stitches. This was Jeremy's first time to get stitches. I have pictures of the scene on my blackberry and posted them to facebook while we waited on the doctor. :) Thankfully MiMi finished up Santa's toys and the stockings so we were able to go to the ER.

Josiah is now busy playing his new Gibson electric guitar and it's loud because he has an amp! Josiah and Ava Beth both got iPod shuffles from MiMi and PawPaw and guess what? The iPod hooks up the the amp and plays the music so we get to hear the Jonas Brothers and Josiah's electric guitar at the same time! :) Ava Beth got a baby doll and all the fun stuff to go with it! And of course a Hannah Montana Electric guitar. Ezekiel also got a guitar and cowboy boots, converse and footballs! That boy loves footballs! They all three of course got way too much stuff but I pray the memories will be what stays with them forever.

You are so beautiful. My wish for you is that you could really see *YOU* the way that others see you (ME). I see this beautiful woman who has a desire to serve the Lord with her WHOLE heart! Thru the pain, thru the tough times, thru the confusion, thru the disappointments, thru it all. Not to make light of your past or the intensity of your pain - but without it all you'd not have YOUR song to sing, YOUR story to tell. I pray that you will begin to love you. There is only one you and oh how thankful I am to have ever met you. How silly to some it is for some chick from Arkansas to keep track on a pen pal on blogger but you have no idea how many smiles, encouraging wordds or challenges I've had by reading YOUR story! TRUST HIM Amanda and he will show you how to trust again. LOVE HIM and he will show you how to LOVE YOU! I hope some day you can see you thru someone else's eyes -- LOVED!

Just popping in on my way to work to say hello and Happy New Year! We have been out of town the past week and without internet, so I quickly caught up when we returned but no energy to reply.
Just felt like I needed to say hi , though, and let you know you were on my heart this morning to pray for as we begin the new year.
Hope all is well for you and your sweet family, and the new year holds lots of wonderful things for you.
Praying for you...
