Half Marathon is finally here!- **updated

This is a huge weekend for me and Jeremy both! Our half marathon is finally here! I don't know why but I am not nervous at all. I feel like I have been ready for it for a while now so I am relieved that it is here. My lack of anxiety is for sure due to God's peace but also it has to do with all the stuff we have going on this weekend!

Friday we have to go to the Race expo to get our packets. You know the stuff like race bibs, timing chips and the free power bars, etc. I always love going to the race expos! It gets me excited to see such a community of runners! Then we have Christmas that night with J's family. Then Saturday we will spend time with my Dad and then around 1pm the kids go to my Mom's and we go to a hotel in Dallas! Jeremy's company Christmas party is Saturday night so they got all of us Austin people a room close to the party location. I am still in shock that it fell on the same weekend as our half marathon. But it's awesome that we will be staying at a hotel near the race and I am sure we will see many runners in the same hotel! Oh and in the thirteen years Jeremy worked for UPS, there was never a Christmas party! This will be soooooooo awesome for him and us as a couple!

WE will be leaving the party by 10pm or sooner because we will be up at 5am getting ready for our race at 7:30! Then we will run the race, hang out and wait for Kelly Ann to cross the finish line and pig out! Then we hope to get a nap before going to Texas Stadium in our Dallas Cowboys hats and our White Rock 1/2 Marathon Tshirts to see the Cowboys beat the Giants! Then Monday morning we will come home!

CRAZY weekend but exciting!

Please be in prayer for safe travel and pray for us to have a safe, healthy and fun 13.1 miles!!! Last night I was driving to meet some girls in Cedar Park and I had reset the odometer on my expedition to see how far 13.1 miles is when you drive it straight out from my house. I have a Garmin when I run so when I get to 6.5, I turn around and run it back. It's kind of cool to realize how far 13.1 straight out truly is. :) When I pulled up next to the Ikea store last night and looked that it was only 12.1 miles from my house, I smiled. I can run from my house further than Ikea with NO problem!!! God is good! He has made me so strong! He has showed me so much through running and it blows me away.

Right now I am praying about whether or not I will do the marathon in February or 1/2 again. I really want to do the full but I am trying to figure out what is best for my family since the training is so intense. On the other hand, my mileage is up and to continue on at this point would be awesome! I really need wisdom on this! Today I will be receiving the movie SPIRIT OF THE MARATHON in the mail from Netflix and I have a feeling it will push me in the marathon direction!!! Then after I run the marathon, maybe Jeremy will let me have a 4th baby. :) We shall see. I'm still praying and thinking on that one myself. Not sure if I positively want that. But it would be a huge blessing for sure!

I am so excited to run this race set before me!!!!

(Please be in prayer for my mind and concentration on this race. The enemy is trying to throw little distractions my way. I have been busy stomping on his face all day today. Please stomp with me!)

That is so amazing to me that you can run so far. I tried running before and only worked up to about 3 miles. I'm more of a walker.

What an action packed weekend! Sounds like a lot of fun though!!

I pray you have a great time.

What a fun and full weekend of memories! You guys better get to bed and lay off the spicy foods ;)

I went to a ladies retreat the weekend of my first race and I tried like crazy to get to bed but I didn't do so great. My roommate was running it with me, so that helped. Your "roommate" is running it with you too!

The expo is fun. I always feel like I need to buy something.

You are probably in the best shape to run the full and and Feb. is a great time of year in TX to do it. The long runs are a booger for time, but if you still have your sitter I know you could do it!

I will be praying for this weekend to be glory-filled and wonderful for you both.

Okay your weekend sounds delightful!! I am so excited for you! I remember my first half - it was the first time I went to the expo...and fell in love with the rush it gave me! We are so similar in that respect! Oh and early on race day morning I was like a kid on christmas! My husband still makes fun of me - I was literally bouncing around!

Anyways, I am praying for ALL of you, and ALL your intentions!!

Our shirts are ready. PawPaw has to leave town on Sunday evening. We are excited to have the kids Saturday - Monday morning. I think they will be over stimulated when they see MiMi's house all decorated for Christmas. I guess I better hide the Nativity Scene from Zeek.

I am very proud of you for doing this. It is amazing to see the journey you have come through this running. You have because physically fit but you have become spiritually fit. As far as I'm concerned, you have already won.

I'm totally thinking of you this weekend and praying it goes smoothly and more than anything else, you love it and have a blast! People think I'm crazy when I say it was a blast. But it really was! It's a total accomplishment with all the glory going to God! Chase HIM in the run!
