I just realized I have not posted anything since last week so why not show you this great picture of Josiah! I'm so proud of him and Jeremy both. I remember when Josiah was a baby and Jeremy worked in Dallas for UPS. His route was an area known to "Dallas folk" as SMU/Highland Park area. He left around 6am and we did not see him until 7:30 or 8pm at night. Peak season (October through half way into January) we did not see him until after 9pm and sometimes 10pm. After thirteen years of being a UPS man, God changed Jeremy's entire life by bringing an incredible opportunity to him. We prayed for it for YEARS! I remember Jeremy laying in bed at night saying "It sure would be nice to be able to go to a Bible Study after work or coach my son's team for sports or not have a back that feels like it's going to break in half. But that will never happen with UPS." This picture of our little boy, our first born, holding his trophy is PROOF that God answers prayers because his Daddy coached his basketball team and is Operations Manager for an incredible family oriented company! The owner even sent me a congratulations on my Marathon to my email! They are amazing people!
Last night as we sat at our end of the season team party and I listened to the boys call out "Coach, Coach!" trying to get Jeremy's attention, I felt so joyful for Jeremy's moment. He has taken so much pride in coaching these boys and two girls. He thinks about it all week. He thinks about new ways to motivate them. Last week we got an email from one of the Moms explaining that her son, a little boy on the team, had been beat up by a big kid from school and was afraid to come back to basketball. Jeremy called him and told him how much he was missed and he actually showed up to the game on Saturday. And I must say that we have met some great families and families we really hope to keep in touch with! The YMCA has truly been a blessing and we can't wait for Basketball to start again in the Summer! Although the Wii golf game has Josiah wanting to play golf. Last night he said, "Since I'm done with basketball, I am ready to start golf at the golf course like Opoh works at. But I need some golf clubs and balls. Okay Mommy?" My Dad, Opoh, works at a golf course and plays golf passionately. My step dad plays and so does my father in law but Jeremy does not. Our son would have to be interested in the most expensive sport known to man and one Jeremy knows nothing about! We shall see!
In other news, our home search is active. Active meaning we are searching DAILY! Last Saturday, right after Josiah's 8am basketball game, we met up with the realtor and found the house we wanted. It was in the city where Jeremy works. We have loved that area ever since we moved to Central Texas. It is very similar to the area in Dallas where we lived and there are a couple of homeschool groups there I have found so it's where we want to be. The home we found had a gigantic back yard with a peach tree, lemon tree and pear tree. There was a playhouse, a huge storage shed and a place for an rv or boat. A big porch that was covered. A tether ball pole. A swing set. A DREAM backyard. It was cheaper than what we pay now for a lease and the neighborhood was AMAZING!! Two miles from ALL of the shopping and about four miles from Jeremy's work and even closer to our YMCA. The next day our realtor text me to say that the owners had an application come through that they originally had rejected but reconsidered. We never even had the chance to fill out an application and someone got it before us! All day Sunday I was so bummed! But now when I think about it, I realize God has something better.
The square footage was really going to be difficult. I was sacrificing a lot just to have that backyard. With three kids, we have a lot of stuff. Sure I can throw a bunch of stuff away and do away with some things but not enough to make 1500 sq ft work. We have BIG furniture, a piano and three kids! God knew better and I'm now glad it did not work out. I can't imagine finding a backyard that great again but I'm praying it will happen. We do not want to settle. When we moved here originally, we never felt like it was our home because we did not choose the area (long story) or even the house. I had to trust someone else to find us something and then choose over pictures on the Internet. The house we live in now is great but we have never enjoyed the area. Sooooooo I am praying that God will provide the perfect house in the area we really long to BE and SETTLE. I can see us building a house on some land out there someday. So I really hope we are on the road to being settled!!! PLEASE GOD!!!
That's what is going on here! Our house is a wreck but we have our boxes so I'm packing and believing! God answered our prayer for Jeremy's job and I believe He will answer our prayers for a new home!
For my God is FAITHFUL!
(Oh and notice the light saber and gun hanging off of Josiah's jeans? Well, this is the life I am living right now. Usually they are hanging off his underwear. He won't wear anything that does not have a place for swords or guns. He is a WARRIOR. He can't get enough of Chronicles of Narnia and Star Wars. He is all about fighting the bad guys and protecting the people! I LOVE that boy's heart!)
