Here in Texas the weather is amazing this week! High of about 85 all week and all the sunshine you could possibly hope for! Perfect timing for our Spring Break!
Last week I began organizing closets, cleaning and getting caught up on laundry. So much that I still have a clean house that I have worked hard daily to maintain. It is so much easier to do a load of laundry once a day and fold right away and put up right away rather than waiting until I have seven loads! Then I am overwhelmed, grumpy and Jeremy is searching for clean underwear on the couch in the pile of unfolded laundry. I also got back to menu planning. Menu planning is the greatest thing because I have all meals lined up and I spend less at the store. When I get in this mode and stay in this mode, I am FULL of joy and my house is FULL of peace. This is my calling. To be a wife and mother is the greatest calling on earth as far as I'm concerned and I had fallen into a slump where I was not taking pride in my job. Whenever I nurture the wife and mother in me, I am fulfilled because I am doing what God created me to do. Can you imagine if your husband quit working and stayed home everyday? He would lose his purpose. He would probably feel depressed. God created men to work and to work hard and if they are not doing that, everyone around them senses their unsettled state. The same goes for us Moms! We were created to be the heart of our home and often we need a jump start to get that heart pumping again. I know I did.
So Spring Break has been nothing but relaxation and fun with friends! We've enjoyed not being a on a schedule and just doing whatever we want, which has meant a lot of time in the sunshine! My house is together so this means I can read a book all day in the backyard while the kids play if I want. That is an accomplishment for sure! I've pretty much learned over the last few weeks that I am 100% a Summer or Warn weather girl! I love to run in the heat way more than I do the cold. I love being outside wearing flip flops, shorts and tank tops. It is my favorite wardrobe season! Even Ezekiel wears flip flops and can walk in them quite well for a two year old! It's nice when the whole family can put on a pair of flip flops and head out the door.
I've been working on making my front porch beautiful so I have a few pots of flowers now that I water every morning. Jeremy just fertilized our yard and it's a huge yard so I get to spend time watering it too. It's been so refreshing and a great way for me to clear my head. This weather is a kiss from Heaven.
That's what's going on here! I've been busy nurturing my home and I have enjoyed every single bit of it!

You're so right about being the "heart of the home". Have you read "A Woman after God's Own Heart"? It talks in depth about our calling as moms & wives. It was refreshing to learn that we're on assignment from God.
Happy Spring!
I've undertaken a similar endeavor. My issue has always been that in my mind and heart home was a high priority, but my actions didn't line up with what that. I just started menu planning also and it is truly a blessing! My temptation is to eat out at restaurants "alot", and by menu planning I've curbed that temptation.
I truly do enjoy reading your blog.
Mmmm...I need to get busy!HA, really I am very happy for you!
You sound so refreshed and renewed! Isn't it great when everything is in order?! I love being a wife and mother!
It's been around 80 here all week too, and we have definitely been enjoying outside activities!
As always, you are inspiring!
Blessings,

What a wonderful post! And always a good reminder ... doing what He has fashioned us to do and finding joy in that :) What a blessing. Glad you guys are having a true Texas Spring Break ... sunshine & everything!
Great post! I love when my house is like that. I try to stay on top of it because when it starts going downhill, it races fast and then at the bottom, it seems so overwhelming!
