Family Driven Faith

I'm in the middle of Voddie Bauchman's book, The Family Driven Faith. I cry on every single page. I don't have adequate words to explain how I feel right now. God has been preparing us for this for ten years. There was a reason WHY we felt uneasy in the churches we have been in. Most of all, I cry because I have been in the driver's seat for so long. Pushng my way into places of leadership, promoting myself, my talents.

I struggle to support a woman like Sarah Palin because I know the cost her family will pay as she pursues her passion. Jesus has set me free and my husband is now allowed to lead and follow his dreams. My home is the greatest dream come true. So glad I finally see it! While I pursued worship leading, and many other passions outside of the home, Jeremy was supportive. Always. But, I feel I was completely out of line. Jesus has turned a "stage girl" into a submissive woman of God. The process has been a beautiful thing.

I'm glad to be a part of the SHIFT. I don't want to fall victim to my culture anymore. Call me a Jesus Freak! I am one!

I heard him at a homeschool conference a couple years ago, and loved so much of what he had to say about parenting. Haven't read this book, but I really liked his book "What He Must Be."
