Next week we are headed to Dallas. It will be our first time to go home since moving almost five months ago. I can't believe we've been here five months. At first I was dreading the visit home because i did not want to doubt our moving, etc.. But over the last few days I have realized that this trip is much needed. I've got plans with friends and family all week long!
Josiah has made many requests for restaurants he wants to eat at so I'm sure we will be eating out with MiMi and PawPaw, Grammy and Papa and Opoh (My Dad). Josiah keeps asking for Mexican Inn and Cotton Patch! Oh I do miss Dallas eating!!! And I must have LA HACIENDA RANCH at least once and Burger Box with my Dad at least TWICE! Of course I will go to Mom's new salon, get my hair done and stay a night or two with them. We will sit out on their huge deck outside in the swing and drink coffee in the morning and maybe a good glass of wine in the evening. Mom has also asked me to be a guest at her Wednesday morning Bible study and I'm pretty sure she is going to make me bake something or make a cheese ball to take to the salon. (I will still do my Holiday baking business there this year!)
Then I'm off to the in laws to shop with my Mother in law for Jeremy's sister's baby shower (I'm hosting it for her at his mom's house and so far we have thirty people coming. My family will be there too.). I'm doing a cake I have never done before so it should be fun! I'm sure I will get to hang out with both sister in laws, swim, go for late night coffees with no children (Nancy, this is our time to get coffee)! I look forward to sitting down with my Father in law and talking about football and the Cowboys. Maybe he will show me his Fantasy Football picks.
Kelly Ann and I will see each other as much as possible. In fact, I can't wait to sit down at a table with her over dinner or coffee and laugh, cry, share and vent like we have since eighth grade! I will also get to hold her baby girl for the first time ever and Josiah will get to see Trey, her son. And I just left a message for my friend Kelly F. so we can set up a time to hang out and let Josiah and Jackson play. Kelly has four kids and her only boy, Jackson, is Josiah's Thomas The Train buddy. They are both equally obsessed. :) Kelly F. also has a pool so I'm sure we will get to swim! I may get to see my friend Tiffany and a few other friends too.
I'm hoping for some one on one time with my Dad, maybe hit some golf balls at the golf range or go up to his work and let him show me the greens he's been working on. (That will make him happy.) He has not seen the kids since May so I know he's busting at the seams to see us all! I may be able to convince him to run three miles with me and show him how I can NOW outrun him because I'm in shape and I'm much younger. He won't like that! :) He still thinks his mile is faster than mine and I have too much pride to protect his pride. He's gonna see my mile is faster! :)
It will be a full week and I'm hoping by the end of it, Jeremy and I can squeeze in a date! Hey, we gotta take advantage of the free childcare! This week in Dallas is one I really need. I need some late nights over coffee with friends, some card games with family and some relaxation by myself while MiMi or Grammy do the grandma thing. I miss my family, I miss my friends and I can't wait to see them all.
And when the week is over, I'll look forward to being back in Austin, where God called us.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :) I have already "warned" Alf that you are coming into town and that we are hanging out as much as we can!!
Love you!!
OMG!!!
I have school Tuesday and Thursday - Tuesday I am done by 2pm though - Thursday I am there all day.
I have no plans MWF - so I am free pretty much any time you are - I can go late at night or early morning. You are the one who has tons to do and people to see - the timing seems good b/c I have been wanting to email you - this LONNNNNGGGGG email about some stuff - but I am just not the writer you are - hence the reason I don't blog - anyway - I have not written it b/c I am afraid it would not make sense...or seem like rambling...
well, you let me know what will work and I will make sure I have time and a sitter ;o))
Nancy
you still have my cell number??? it has not changed....
Sounds so good! I love your last line. Even after writing about people and places you love--you still feel confident about your move...and rightly so. So encouraging!
Sounds fabulous!!
Oh, it sounds absolutely divine! I hope you have a wonderful time visiting and catching up with family and friends. Use this time to refresh and rejuvenate yourself!
Hope you have a great time!
Your week sounds so wonderful! I really hope you all enjoy your time away with family and friends...and take advantage of the childcare as much as you can. :) What a blessing!
