our weekend

We thought that Jeremy would be working this Saturday but once again, he was able to get it all done on Friday and he is home today! Last night I started the weekend with some homemade salsa and tacos! I had planned to put the kids in bed early and us watch a movie but that did not happen. The kids were fussy, I was fussy and Jeremy was tired. My planned date night did not happen! I was bummed.

This morning I walked into the bathroom and saw that my bathroom mirror was covered in yellow sticky notes my husband had written on! Every single one of them had something very sweet to say. Yesterday was one of those days that will go down in the books as a "feel like a failure as a parent" type of day. I had a grocery store trip from hell and it was so bad that I had trouble snapping out of it. Needless to say, Jeremy did not come home to a "happy wife." But, the notes all over the mirror, well, they helped!

Jeremy also went to the donut shop this morning and got my favorite sausage rolls with cheese. Then he told me to go enjoy a morning run and I did! I didn't have Heidi with me but I decided to go ahead and run two miles. Despite the horrible humidity and the hot sun (it was extremely hot for the end of Sep.), the run wasn't so bad. Oh and I did have JT on the iPod to help! (Yes, I love Justin Timberlake!) There is nothing better to run to! (Wendy, you have got to have at least a couple of his songs on your iPod for the marathon! In fact, I think the middle of your race is when you will need him the most. Isn't that when you hit the wall?? :) )

So after my run, we went with Bret and Heidi to the pool with all of our kids. She has three, I have three and all of them are exactly six months apart. I knew when I met her and found out she had boy, girl, boy just like me, same ages, that we would be friends. Then she told me their names were Christian, Trinity and Israel and I knew we would be great friends. Usually when people find out I have a Josiah, Ava Beth and Ezekiel, they look at me strangely but not Heidi! But when I found out that Heidi was a runner, I knew she would be one of my best friends. And then we got or husbands together and they were able to carry on conversation without us, I knew we were soul mates! :) This was probably the last time or close to the last time we will swim until next year so it was a lot of fun spending the day at the pool with our friends. We are blessed. So blessed!

And now we are about to get ready to go to a birthday party for another new friend. This friend is the sound man at our sponsor church. Since I am a part of the band right now, we get included in all the little get togethers. The kids will get to play with more friends and we will get to chill out over some food and birthday cake. Then tonight I will come home and lay out every one's clothes so Jeremy can get everyone ready. Sundays are kind of tough for Jeremy because I have to be at church so early and he comes for second service with all three kids. I have to say that I am so blessed because Jeremy can get them all three ready and even fixes Ava Beth's hair with a bow and spikes Josiah's with hair gel. (I lay out the bow too!)

Tomorrow I am praying we get a good nap before the Cowboys play the Bears at 7:15pm! GO COWS!

(I have a song playing on my project playlist, the first one listed, called Bring It On Home by Little Big Town. We are actually singing it tomorrow at church for a marriage series they are doing. It's a cool song so listen to it if you can. They have beautiful harmony! This isn't my church, but I feel so blessed that they would have me around and let me sing with them. I can't wait for Resonate Community to start preview services. We think we have a date for those to begin! It will be here before we know it!!!!)

What a guy that Jeremy is!
We've all had those crazy days and grocery store moments. I've actually left a cart of groceries before. I felt bad, but it was needed.

I will have to add some JT to my ipod. Usually the wall is around 20. I did an 18 miler only Friday and felt a few "walls." It wasn't my best run, but at least I survived it I guess. Hopefully this week will be better.

Jeremy is great. How thoughtful. I like those moments.

I knew you had a busy weekend, so sorry I didn't call before it came. Carmyn is doing well. The medication seems to be helping for the most part. She still spits, just not as much and she seems A LOT more comfortable. I guess I will tell more in at the one month weigh in.

How sweet of Jeremy to put the post-it's on the mirror! That was so thoughtful!

Our church is in the middle of a marriage series! It's a lot of fun!

I'll have to check out the songs too. Any songs anyone can recommend for running, I am all over!

How sweet of your man to leave such sweet notes... esp. after a bad day... you are truly blessed!
