Happy 1st Birthday Ezekiel!

I know, I know, 3rd post today but the house is clean, the kids are playing with the dog on the back porch and the baby is sleeping so I have time do post Ezekiel's birthday blog real quick!

I went to the doctor on this day and found out I was almost a three. He came a few days later!

Happy 1st Birthday to my baby boy, my 3rd child, Ezekiel Walter! It was a very easy labor and delivery, a couple of pushes and he was out! Almost three weeks early but still weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces and 21 inches long! My mom was vacationing in another country and was checking her email constantly to see if I was going to make it until my induction date the 22nd but on January 15th, I was miserable, up all night and called my doctor at 7am on the 16th. I was already dilated to a 2 and 1/2 and almost completely effaced so when he answered my page and called me back, I answered the phone to "Sweetie, come on in and let's have this baby but don't tell your Mom I agreed to this. She'll kill me for you having this boy while she is on her cruise!" I did not care, I was done and Ezekiel was ready to come out! And by the way, my Mom is on the same exact cruise right this second! She is missing the 1st birthday party bash!

When I arrived, my labor was not active but the pitocin sure changed that! I tried to be tough and hold out for the epidural. Why? I have no idea really! Stupid! I could have got it almost immediately but I chose to wait. Again, stupid! The epidural was the best one out of all the three and I can't tell you really why because the other two were perfect also but this one seemed to work as soon as the catheter went into my spine! UGH! And this time my husband did not say, "Dang! That's a big needle!" Yes, he said this when we were having the first baby!

I missed my Mom, I even cried for her once but then my best friend Rebecca got there and Jeremy's Mom was there rubbing my my hair and doting on me (which I love). My Dad was there too but not DURING! My brother and his wife, my other best bud Kelly Ann (who happened to find out that day that she was having a baby girl), Jeremy's sister and her husband, my father in law and probably more people that I can't remember.

The day was magical, wonderful, unforgettable and I wish I could experience the birth of all three of my children all over again. Those days seems to supersede everything else!

Ezekiel is a Mother's dream! He is an easy baby, happy baby and brings us all so much joy. Ask anyone that knows him, they will tell you that he is nothing but delight! He is delicious! And guess what? He looks exactly like me! :) Gotta love that! Stick a bow on his blonde head and it would look like me as a baby except I was much fatter!

He has a lot of nicknames. Zeke, Zekeey, Zeekers, Zekeey Zoomba, Zoomba, Zoombear, and so on! The kids adore him and love playing with him and I can't imagine not having the third. He was the best thing that happened to our family!
3 days before he was born, we finally painted the nursery at the old house!

And there he is with Dr. Neal who has delivered all three babies and if there was ever a fourth, I think I would have to go to Grapevine because I love my Doctor!

Erin, that is crazy!!! I first met Dr. Neal and his family when I was twenty years old. I was going to Fellowship church and had sang one morning and he came up to me and told me I did a good job. I had NO idea he was a doctor. I then got to know his daughters when I worked with the youth and then bonded with the entire family. I was single, so it was nice to have a family to hang out with. Then one day my step sister knew I needed to get my first female checkup and suggested I go to the doctor she worked for because he was the chief of OB and such a good Gyno. Would you beleive it was Kerry Neal? I felt better about going to him when I found out that half of FC at the time went to him.

I really adore him, my husband likes him a lot too and not only has he delivered all three of my kids but my nieces and nephews too and most of my friend's kids! And his wife Richelle (the RN in his office) I really like too. She's pretty shy, unlike him but once you get to know her she is really sweet.

I am actually going to see him next month! I still have not looked for a new doctor here in Austin.

You will have to tell him I said hi!!!! I miss him! I miss being pregant and him making me feel like a million bucks when I went in. He is the BEST doctor I have ever had!

I think I just wrote another blog! And you have reminded me that I have got to give him a new picture of ALL the kids!

Happy Birthday Ezekiel! Wow! Hard to believe the year has laready passed. Aren't "birth-day" memories precious to a mother's heart?

I feel just like you; if I were to have another baby I would have to follow my mid-wife all the way to NC. I just couldn't ever have a baby without her!

I will tell him that you said hi, I see him monthly! I didn't know he goes to FC, that is crazy! I will have to keep a look out for his wife. I thought he was who you were talking about when you wrote what he said to you on the phone, I could hear him saying it! My inlaws, et al, go to FC and I work at the Technology company that they started, I bet we know a lot of the same people!
