I've never paid this much for shoes but with running, you don't have to spend a ton of money like you would for a sport like golf or even a gym membership. So yes, I did spend a lot but running shoes are totally worth it! The guy at Run-Tex gave me a 15% discount which made it, with tax, eleven dollars cheaper. I called Jeremy and asked if the price was okay. Surprisingly, no begging was involved! He just said, "That's fine." I tried on many different brands but Asics are still my favorites!
Something new I found out today was my foot size! Would you believe I wear a size seven? I have thought I was an eight forever! He measures my foot, checked my arch, my toe flexibility, etc. and I am a seven but I bought an 8 1/2 and they feel great! (Remember with running shoes you buy bigger and since I have lost toenails, I decided on an 8 1/2.)
So what did I buy? Here's the picture and a link. Oh and I did get a free Asics water bottle AND Asics tote bag! And why shouldn't I when I spend that much? Kind of like a car dealer throwing in the floor mats! It's the least they could do!
On a side note. It's great that one of my best friends in the whole world, Heidi, runs too. I called her as soon as I left and said, "Well, I got my shoes!" She said, "What did you get?" Before I could get it out, she named them! She knew the exact brand, model and number and she was very excited for me! We sound like guys talking about a new golf club or something! :)
Asics have never given me one single blister on my feet so I think I will go ahead and wear them tomorrow for my long run! There is no way I can wait until they're broken in before wearing them for the long run. No way!
(Yes, this is the color I got too. They look JUST like this.)

LOVE the Kayano's
Love them.
I had Asics, then went Nike. I will never do that again. I will forever be loyal to Asics.
EVERYONE says once you go Nike, you always go back to Asics! :)
Nikes are very small at the toe, first of all. Learned that the hard way with snoozing pinky toes.
Anyhoo, I loved my pearl izumi's that I paid a fortune for, but this last time I went new balance. maybe I'll try asics next.
My husband wears Asics Kayanos too and he loves them!
I've never tried asics but being diabetic I need to try them for walking! When you have a chance check out my new post.... I posted a pic of Piercen after 3 MONTHS! =0)
Saucony is the only shoe for me. I hope these work well for you. It pays to get good quality and replace them often when you are running a lot.
I'd love to invite you to upload any original songs that are well produced to worshipsong.com. It's a place for your songs to be heard and for you to be able to sell downloadable mp3's rhythm charts, etc.
Blessings...

I am a Brooke's girl, but everyone I know who is a runner is loyal and true to the their favorite shoe! (little rhyme for ya)
I use runningshoes.com for all my purchases now since I know what my favorite one is and I can save quite a bit and they usually have free shipping!
New shoes make such a difference. My shins and calves are always thankful ;)
Cute shoes!!!!! I love New balance...but I can never bring myself to actually buy a pair unless they go on sale. Happy running!
PS...when I read worship on a regular basis, I used to have anxiety attacks the week I was scheduled to minister. I'll definitely be praying for you!
i am kinda new to your blog although I will admit i've been reading for a couple of weeks and have never commented sorry :0( anyhow, I just started running about a month or so ago with my best non stop distance of 2.25 miles...i'm gonna run a 5k in July...anyhow, my ankle on my left leg is killing me BAD! I ice it take ibuprofen and still today the farthest I could make it was 1.25 because of the pain...do you think it is just my body adapting? did this happen to you? please i would love any advice...i feel i'm right there in obtaining my 3+ miles but my ankle is holding me back and I hate it.
p.s i love your blog and I'm so gonna check out those shoes!
Jsut wanted to pass along that consumerworld.org is a site that will find the cheapest price for you on just about anything. I looked up your shoe and it was $135 no shipping, no tax so it that happens to be a better deal than you got, something to keep in mind. TX is always cheaper for everything though and I do miss that! I'm going to start trail running so let us know if you have any experience with that. Bless you for running in the heat! I don't know how you do it.
Actually I got a discount so my shoes were $119! :) I got a great deal!
