We've been talking a lot about the events that took place in the book of Genesis. Josiah was very excited to learn that a rainbow has a very special meaning (Genesis 9:12-17). We've had many discussions about rain and how God uses the rain to water the earth. Around 3am this morning while I laid in bed with a throbbing toothache, I prayed for ways to make the Bible come alive to my children. "What can I do Lord? How can I show them your Word is alive and real in their lives?" This morning we drew rainbows and clouds and then made these sun flowers out of their hand prints. I was out of paper plates so I traced a circle on a cereal box and cut it out to glue everything to. The green stem is a straw and I used a hot glue gun for that.
I constantly doubt myself as a mother and lay in bed night after night praying God will give me creativity and ways to create memories they will never forget. It may just be a simple flower but we made memories today. HE answered my prayer and I feel fulfilled and full of joy this afternoon.
Tooth is still hurting so I'm off to take a nap while they sleep.
Happy Wednesday!

I feel so bad that Ava Beth has no tan for the summer. Poor little pale girl. She is the most beautiful child in all the world. What great ideas you have Mandi. "doubt yourself as a mother"....you must not have met your kids. Kaufee
What a great idea. I love the way you are always quick to give God the glory for your ideas:-)
Glad you are feeling fulfilled and enjoying this time with your kids!
Thanks ladies! :) You always know how to lift me up! :)
Kaufee! HA! Yes, Ava Beth looks like a barbie doll! Remember when they used to make Barbies with tan lines? :) Josiah is the same way and I cover them in sunscreen but they get so dark like their daddy. Ezekiel is just a little ghost! :)
