LOOK what we found!

It's nice to find our Science/Nature lesson in the backyard! This has opened up a huge "jar" of questions for Josiah. We don't have a book on bugs (yet) but the Internet has some incredible websites on identifying bugs! Do you know what this is?? I DO! I just found it online! I want to see how many of you know what it is. Any guesses? My husband would have known instantly, but I had to look it up.

We have let this creature go because it is a carnivore. The grass means nothing for this dude or dudette. If I watched more discovery channel, maybe I could tell if it was a dude or not! Who knows! :)

Tomorrow we are going to have some fun researching this bug! Very excited!

Loving homeschool,

Amanda

And that would be the difference between homeschooling a boy and a girl. :) Mine would have called me to come look, but jumped up and down screaming about how gross it was and NOT put it in a jar.

Is it a praying mantis?

Is it a Praying Mantis? If so, they spit! If it's a carnivor, I wonder if he (or she) ate the snake.

oops! I was signed in as you Mom because I was working on your blog so I had to delete my comment.

He doesn't like bugs but if they are in a jar, he does. He DID pick up a snail today!
