flood zone

I love those times in my journey with God when I know without a shadow of doubt what God is saying to me. He makes it perfectly crystal clear. Yesterday I had two people who know the battles I have been facing this week say something to me that I really connected with.

First it was my friend Tiffany. Tiffany and I are connected in a way spiritually that I can't even begin to describe. If this is what having a sister feels like, Tiffany is my sister. I have never had a friendship like this before. She often hears from God regarding things in my life way before I do. When she speaks, I listen and I trust. She is also a worship leader and taught me something very important a long time ago when I served under her. Chase GOD! Chase Him with everything you've got because He will show up and change lives. Don't be afraid to do what He asks. She lives this out and influences me more than I think she realizes. What she spoke to me yesterday, I grabbed a hold of and chewed on it all day long.

Then last night I was sitting in the bathtub and Jeremy said, "Babe I was thinking about this stuff today and this is what I think God is doing." And then he said EXACTLY what Tiffany had said earlier in the day. Hearing my husband say what he did really meant a lot of things to me for various reasons. First it showed me how incredible God is and when He wants to get my attention, He will make sure I hear it over and over again. Then it showed me some growth in my husband's life. It got me excited that he was so tuned in to how the enemy works. It also got me excited that my husband is on my team and God uses Him to love me in the most incredible ways. Satan tries to get in the way of that so often.

This morning when I got out of bed, I thought about an email my aunt sent me last week. Here's what it said.

Mandi the enemy will come in like a flood. It always floods in the same places . That is why there are flood zones . If you are buying a house you always check to see what the flood zone is in the area you are looking at.

Through Tiffany, my husband and my aunt, I see a huge flood zone God is clearing out. I'm getting on higher ground, OUT of the flood zone. It's surprising to me the areas I am finding in my life that keep me in the flood and the journey to move myself out of the flood zone and up to higher ground is hard. I'm wading through some dirty and deep water that has rained down over the last year and my clothes are soaking wet from it. But as I have waded in the water, God has cleared a path. Higher ground here I come!!!

Look around friends and see if you are in a flood zone. What situation, persons or mindsets has you in a flood?

Preach it! I love you, dear girl and you are absolutely my sister. :)

I feel the same about your walk - your discernment and passion are special, holy things.

When you spoke of the flood, I got chills...it's as if, when you lead others in worship, you will be saying to those drowning below, "Here...take this life vest...Jesus is here to now lift you to higher ground." You are strategically stationed as His lifeguard, 'Manda...keep those discerning eyes open to those who are drowning.

Be BLESSED today...I love you,
Tiff ;)
