Romans 13

I've read this passage before but read it again this morning. I am sad over the loss. I'm sad. I cried tears of sadness while I watched Oprah gush with joy. Her excitement is real and it's very real for much of America. While I don't agree with this president choice. I will support it and if that was ever in question, I ask for my reader's forgiveness.

I pray that civility can return to every one's conversation and we can get back to talking about how we can stand for Christ. Do I think you are not a Christian if you voted for Obama? No. Do I question you and struggle to understand your choice? Yes. And you feel the same about me. The one thing I do know is there is ONE truth. I do think Americans got it wrong. I do think the wrong man was elected. But so did many of you when you voted for John Kerry or Al Gore. Some of you voted for W. and then hated him. Obama will disappoint. He will make bad choices. He will fail. ALL MEN DO.

If Obama had all the answers, if he were the savior people are making him out to be, we wouldn't need Jesus. Men will fail us. Men will change. Men will break promises and break their word. Change will come. Indeed. If you believe God's Holy Word 100%, then you know what is to come. Prophecy is being fulfilled in many ways.

It appears we are in the end times. If you don't see that, hear it, taste it or have any clue, just look around. Relativism is reigning in the church now more than ever. IN THE CHURCH.

I will not bash Obama. I will not wish harm upon him. I will obey the government that God almighty has put in place. But I will not stand and support gay marriage. I will not turn a blind eye to the thousands of babies being taken from their mother's womb and murdered. I will not look at unwanted pregnancy as mistake. But I will TRUST Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I will pray that believers all over America will stand together and fight for the cause of Christ.

How did I vote? I voted for Jesus.

Romans 13

1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Love, for the Day is Near

8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet,"[a] and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."[b] 10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

11And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.[c]

I am reminded today that the SAME God that took care of us YESTERDAY is taking care of us TODAY!:)

You said this well. Actually, Holy Scripture says it well. Thank you for using God's Word to convey your convictions. It is easy to see and hear in your tone, you are not judgemental but you are truly concerned for the world you are bringing up your children in.

The Bible is so plain about what we are to do. We are to pray for those in leadership. We live, pay taxes, pray for our leaders, and live our lives according to God's Word.

Because we live in a world that no longer believes what God says, "I put before you today, life and death. Choose LIFE.", does not mean that we change. We still stand and still IN GOD WE TRUST.

Your blog was beautiful.

I love you.

New mom in law just wrote what I wrote in a previous post! God is still on the throne!

The disappointment is not "who is president?" but rather "where is the church?"

Relativism is a concession for sin. We do it in our everyday life and you are right ... Church has embraced it as well.

Thank God He is showing us mercy today and has given us hope!

Now, your blog has kept me glued to my chair for an hour! The school bell is ringing ...

Hi Amanda,

I never comment but always check in on you and your cute family. I completely agree with you! What a sad election this has been. I live in CA and we are fighting to save traditional marriage(looks like we did! for now.) Christians need to step up their game and stop being chicken about where our Lord expects us to stand.
Thanks for your posting, it is making me feel a tiny bit better today.

Love,
Becky

McCain would have failed. McCain would have made bad choices. He would have failed, because as you said, ALL MEN DO.

Obama is indeed NOT the savior. We all need Jesus. Only HE can save us. Christians who voted for Obama are indeed aware of their need of Jesus. Nothing not Obama/Biden or MCain/Pail.

Have some faith and believe that God is in control. Cheer up! It's not over until the Lord says so.

I agree with you Amanda. I have felt sad yesterday and today. The end times are close, so many signs. Keeping my eyes on Jesus, He is our hope!

Thank you Nadine. Yes all men do fail us, that is why I said that. Bush failed us, Obama will and McCain would have.

I'm excited about what God is doing!

Exciting times coming our way!!!

Amanda, I have been following your post lately. It all has been so on. The one statement has really made me think....Christians are not following Christ. They are not Jesus followers. I really think that is what happened in this vote. For whatever reason, Christians are afraid to offend instead of telling the truth.

But through this all and during our future, God is in control and He is not surprised by anyone it. We must trust and have faith in Him.

Great post. I can really see the work God is doing in you just through your post from the the start three years ago.

Again? Why don't we live near each other??

Dear Amanda,

I am new to this and do not even have a blog page. I need to ask your forgiveness for yesterday I wrote a comment and I think my heart was misunderstood. I did not disagree with you but was trying to add some more thoughts. I apologize if it came as an attack against you. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to make it right with you. I never want to be at odds with a fellow sister in Christ. I again will say that I love your heart and passion for Jesus and appreciate your words of wisdom. I feel I "get" you and your thoughts echo much of mine. I hope you will forgive me if I upset or angered you by my comment.

P.S. Due to me being new to this and new to your blog I did not know your feelings about no names. That being said I was not purposely omitting my name because I was not willing. I was just putting my first blog comment on and was unsure about the whole process. Again I am sorry!

Oh Ang!!! I am so sorry. Again, I apologize. I have been on the defense and took that out on some of you. GOSH! I feel like crap but seem to constantlt reveal to all of you, whether I mean to or not, that I am sooooooooo flawed and I do not have any of this stuff figured out. I jsut pray God can use me. Some how, USE ME! :)

Thank you Ang. WOW! What a blessing you are to me for just writing what you did and I apologize for being hurtful in ANY way.

Dear Amanda,

I feel humbled by your forgiveness and I give mine wholeheartedly. I lost sleep last night because I needed to repent to God for my pride. Often times I just put opinions out there and don't think about it enough. I was worried that their would be "bad feelings" between us and I wouldn't have the opportunity to make it right with. I thought here I will be meeting in you in heaven one day and I didn't want our interaction on earth here to only be negative. Your blog has made me ponder starting my own...you are braver than I am I think but it is something I am praying about as I sometimes sense that God has given me a "voice" and that I need to be using it more.

With great love and fondness!

Your sister in Christ,
Ang

Ang, you are a precious sister in Christ.

You said something very powerful though. We will as brothers and sisters in Christ be in heaven together someday and we spend so much time here on earth fighting each other. I don't feel like you and I were fighting but you know what I mean.

It amazes me and humbles me to think of all these people who read my blog. It's an honor to have people come here and I realize I have a huge responsibility. I feel like I have been way too harsh about this election. I stand by how I feel regarding our new president and where he stands on moral issues and taxes but I don't think I represented myself appropriately at all times. I feel convicted and you ladies who have spoken up have taught me a lot today. I am humbled and appreciate you.

Thank you. You truly have blessed me!
