Anyone run the Chicago Marathon before? Or anyone know Chicago hotels and locations very well?
I am looking at trying to get our room for October and all of the ones the Chicago Marathon lists are like $300 per night! NO THANKS!
Please let me know if you have any tips. I am looking on all the travel sites hoping to find the best deal.

Have you checked Lonely Planet? My aunt and uncle live in Skokie- I'd suggest staying in a suburb by the El line. It'd maybe be cheaper that way. :)
Hey! Talk to Scotty. He flies in and out of Chicago quite frequently and probably knows of of some other hotels too.

Chicago is a very expensive city. That is probably pretty right on. as well as plane tickets are very high. If you want cheaper, you need to stay in a suburb. But you also need to understand that you will either have to take a train and or cab into the city. This will take time and money. The city is congested. My suggestion would maybe you and Wendy split the cost.
We went to Chicago for the October marathon a few years back and stayed in a suburb at a Homestead.... you can google it. They are not fancy, but really clean, safe, nice, and incredibly inexpensive.
Hope God opens the door for you to find something cheap!
