correction

Sometimes my passion gets a little spoiled when I allow a judgemental spirit to come in.   I allowed my passion to become a soap box yesterday.  I never want to use my blog as a platform to "preach" my disgust with things around me because I am a sinner and full of things others may not agree either.  Please forgive me.

We are only three days in and this week is proving itself to be one that needs me COVERED in God's mighty Word.  My phone has lit up with text message after text message of women in my life needing prayer and ALL of these requests have to do with family.  I am not complaining one bit because I love that the Lord has allowed me to be someone they can come to and share their burdens.  The hard part is, I have become righteously angry over their burdens because there is a common theme among all of them and I have struggled to carry the burden with them.  I wan to fix it.  I want to give them a plan and I want them to LISTEN TO ME. HA!  But that's not what carrying a burden is all about.  It's about accepting them, loving them and praying with them as they walk their journey and allowing God to speak HIS truth, not necessarily mine.

Please forgive me for pushing my convictions, opinions and passions on all of you.

Thank you Lord for using your word for correction in my life.  I can share the Word of God and share my passion about what you are doing in my life but I know when I step over the line and speak from a place of anger and judgement.  Others will know too.  Thank you Lord for your gentle way of discipline in my life.  Your word sharpens me. 2 Timothy 3:16 says that your word will show us what is wrong in our lives.  Thank you Lord that we have your Word to do just that!  In Jesus name!

Romans 12:3 (The Message)

3I'm speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

Romans 14 (ALL OF IT but especially verse 22)

Romans 14:22 (The Message)

22-23Cultivate your own relationship with God, but don't impose it on others. You're fortunate if your behavior and your belief are coherent. But if you're not sure, if you notice that you are acting in ways inconsistent with what you believe—some days trying to impose your opinions on others, other days just trying to please them—then you know that you're out of line. If the way you live isn't consistent with what you believe, then it's wrong.
