Back to (Home) School!

Last year I changed our start date a few times, and this year I am doing it again! We have some unexpected company coming. We knew they were coming a few weeks ago, but we were not sure of the exact days. The more I try to prepare for August, 8th being our first day of school, the more I feel it won't work. I need a weekend before School that has NOTHING on the calendar. For the past few years I have protected the weekend before with my life! I must do the same this year too.

I am still working on our schedule. I'm printing reproducibles for History, notebooking pages for composers and artists, and organizing each subject for each child. We will have Dance on Wednesday afternoons again, which means Wednesday will have to be a "light" day. Our schedule has not allowed me to have a night at Starbuck's yet. A night with just me, coffee, the iPad, my calendar, and lesson plan book. This will happen NEXT weekend. Jeremy knows I need a day to myself. I have a nursing baby who will not take a bottle, so I will come home a few times for baby Jude. Other than that, I'm declaring a "Planning Day". Alone! It's crucial.

As it looks right now, I'm thinking we will start the 22nd or 29th. Until then, I'm tweaking. And praying. And praying some more!

We kick of the Grammar year in prepositions! I'm excited! I wanted to utilize our tiny space as much as possible. I'm not very artistic when it comes to drawing, but a simple tree I can do. Who doesn't LOVE a preposition tree? I do, I do!

Happy Homeschooling!

Amanda

I'm just so thrilled that you are an avid homeschooling mom! I've got a friend at work interested in it, and we've talked about how it works several times. My mom is going to email her and give her suggestions and tips on how to do so! I'm so excited!

Alex, you will be a great resource for her. You are a graduate! I have a friend who is new to Homeschooling. She went to Mardel's the other day and had a wonderful, young lady help her choose some things. She was also a homeschool graduate and very helpful.

I was thinking about you the other day, and what an incredible Homeschool conference speaker you would be. You are an incredible resource to Moms because you have been the student. You have wisdom God could really use. I'm so glad I have you in my life!
