Singing on Sunday

Okay, so we have a sponsor church that's close by and we attend services there as a team. Our Pastor, Kyle, is going to be preaching there on September 2nd. It's really cool how it's all working out because guess who will be singing there for a while? ME! The Worship Pastor, Drew, is letting me join the band for a while and sing. I guess you could say he's letting me do a little co-leading because this weekend I'm doing the lead on two and a half songs and singing backup on the rest. Yep, I'm nervous! VERY NERVOUS! Drew has kind of taken me under his wing and eventually I will get to lead by myself on a Sunday when Kyle preaches and even fill in for Drew so he can be gone on a Sunday during the Holidays. Until we officially launch Resonate Community, Kyle will be speaking there every once in a while and we hope to have me ready to lead worship by myself on one of those Sundays. No doubt, it's a dream come true but I won't lie, I get a little scared when I think of it. I've filled in at a couple of churches before but this church is not a little tiny church. Both services are packed out and while that is VERY exciting, it's scary too. The band rocks, Drew rocks, and the people at that church are great people. We are so blessed to have a sponsor church that's willing to give us opportunities like this.

Sunday night, I got the cd that I needed to practice with until Thursday night's band practice. Then he emailed me the list explaining the songs. My heart began to pound when I saw this list. Why am I so darn nervous???! I've been singing my entire life and I have sang in front of thousands of people at a gigantic church so why am I freaking? When I get nervous, I run out of breath and my hand shakes so I am really praying that the Lord will calm my fears and just use my voice and countenance to engage others in worship. That's what it's ALL about! I'm thinking Saturday night will be a night of no sleep but Sunday afternoon, I will crash. :)

Oh and Kyle and Erika will be sharing on Sunday a little bit about Africa/Zambia project Resonate Community is doing. So please be in prayer for our RC Team. God is doing some incredible things and I personally think we will be launched this time next year. :)
