The joy of being a girl and having one!

Well, this post is really just a post to show off the new bows I made last night with my girlfriends. I am new at this and totally addicted! I'm already thinking of making a ribbon trip so I can make more bows! To think of all the money I have spent on bows and now I can make them myself! I know women have sewing clubs, quilting clubs and "crop nights" for scrap booking but we have a new club and it's the coolest one in town! It's the drink coffee, laugh hysterically, talk about "rooting" and so much more while you make bows club! Aren't you jealous?!

I must say last night was one of the most therapeutic events ever. It was a blast hanging out AND making something for all of our daughters. We all need those nights when laughter is center stage and last night I laughed, a lot and it felt so good! One of the funniest things was hearing Kyle/Pastor, Erika's husband playing Halo upstairs with Davie (Carrie's husband). Both men were at their own homes but since you play Halo online or whatever, you where a headset and talk to one another. I almost peed my pants when I heard Kyle say, "Hey Davie, I'll be right back. I gotta put a load of laundry in." And something even funnier was after Erika finished feeding baby Kathryn, she took her upstairs to lay her down. We got busy with bow making and Kyle comes down the stairs ten minutes later and says, "Babe, she's rooting." You would have to know Erika to know that the look on her face was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. But she gently said, "I just fed her." So Kyle went back upstairs. :) And now that we have this bow making under our belts, we can talk about this in front of our husbands and use bow making as something that applies to daily life because the men in our group use HALO as a spiritual example in Bible Study. It's pretty funny how grown men act like little boys when playing video games because we would NEVER act so immature! Right Gina? :)

So tomorrow night we are all headed to the High School Football game and our kids have matching shirts (we made them) and the girls all have matching bows. Since we are in the Austin area, guess what our School colors are? Yep, burnt orange and white! And did you know that you can't go to a store and just buy burnt orange ribbon?! No, you have to order it! Luckily we found some on ebay! Now our girls can support The University Of Texas (NOT TENNESSEE) or our High School!

Oh we made Halloween bows and since we were doing some iron ons for t-shirts, I decided to bring my Boo from Hobby Lobby and Ava Beth's black shirt from Target and make her Halloween shirt. Isn't this so cute? Yep, you can make this too! Hobby Lobby has some great iron on Halloween stuff! The Boo was my favorite! Oh and Erika had pumpkin buttons so we added one to our Halloween bows. So cute! I love it!

(Marsha/Erika's Mom, just wait until you see Erika's bows! And yes, we know you are reading our blogs! We all love you and want you to come make bows with us!)

I need a bow-making club...sounds so fun! However, I'm the only girl here and I don't typically wear them:)

Hey --gotta keep up with what is going on in Hutto somehow!!! I love the bows, I made Kylie bows before Erika started making them...but, I got tossed aside when she started making em, she is sooo much better at it than me. I love reading yours and Gina's blogs, all kinds of interesting things I have learned, like what to do if I have a sun spot.

I would love to know how to make bows, is it hard? I printed something online about it, but I haven't done it yet!
