My babies have been with grandparents since Friday afternoon. Friday night was a nice date night at Goodwill and dinner at Chili's. Yes, you read right. We went to Goodwill! My friends Gina and Ruth have taught me the fine art of rummaging through thrift stores. I spent $4.00 and got two Christmas books for the kids, a super cute Halloween shirt for Josiah from Gap and a Christmas Tshirt for baby Zeke from Old Navy! And I would have bought something for me but I did not have time to look through all the clothes for women. Jeremy was hungry!
Saturday was the race, then we went to a festival in town, I practiced for a worship thing I am doing tomorrow night then to Chris and Gina's! We had the most fun I've had in a long time. We grilled chicken and shrimp, drank some great wine, played Taboo, sang, Roller skated and drank two pots of coffee. Yes, you read right again. We roller skated.
Sunday morning we rested all day long and watched those Dallas Cowboys win again! But Sunday was not a very good day for me. I missed the kids terribly and spent the afternoon crying. My Mom told me that Ava Beth was crying for us and that Ezekiel was not handling being away from me very well. This was not his first trip away but I guess he missed Mama and showed everyone by crying. And I don't blame him because I cried too! The day did get better when I decided to make a bunch of hair bows and paint some canvases. I can't do that stuff when the kids are around so it was nice to be crafty for a while. I made seven hair bows and painted a canvas for my friend, Lori.
Monday I awoke to a cold morning. I love the cold weather! It was raining and freezing, I love it! My friend Cindy called and asked if I wanted to grab coffee so, we met for coffee and then I went to Georgetown to shop. I think Georgetown is my favorite place to go right now. I love the area and Southwestern University is just gorgeous! First it was Old Navy where I got some new jeans and some long sleeve shirts for this delicious cold weather. Then it was Hobby Lobby for ribbon (it's 50% off this week) and some stuff to put on the hair bows to keep them from fraying (you can use a lighter too). I also needed some more craft paint for canvases. Of course I had to go to Target and then to Sally's to buy alligator clips for hair bows. I can't even begin to tell you how fun it was to run in and out of stores without unloading everyone! :) The cold weather made the day absolutely perfect. I had on my Ug boots, jeans, a tshirt and really cool sweater that looks like a shawl but it actually has sleeves. Now that is my favorite kind of outfit for a rainy, cold day!
My Mom and I were supposed to meet up today for me to get the kids back but she called last night and said that the kids were very fussy and needed to come home. So I convinced my friend Gina to drive to Waco with me at 9pm last night. I hate driving at night so I was so glad to have her with me. We stopped for a Monster and Rock Star (fully loaded caffeine drinks) in Saledo and got the babies back in Waco. Waco is a little further for me than it is for my Mom but it worked out great and it was worth the trip since I got to wake up to my babies this morning instead of having to drive and pick them up this morning.
The time alone was nice and much needed but I feel a little lost without them here. They are my life and I miss them and think about them non stop when they are away. Today we have read books galore, sang, played and hugged at least a hundred times. I am so glad they are home. It's nice to have my chatter box, almost three, little girl home, my guitar playing, almost five, big boy home and my snugly, precious nine month, baby boy home. Oh I love them so much! Today I have been told how much I am loved, how bad I was missed and how pretty I am. :) My kids are the best! Thank you Lord for my family.

Sounds like you were able to recharge... even though you missed the kids! So glad you got some cool weather, it has finally dropped below 75 this morning and feels like fall:-)
It's always nice to have time away- but I'm like you, they are such a part of you and you miss them so much- it's such a sweet feeling to have them back! The shopping part sounds divine, I haven't been able to do that without unloading kids out at every stop in months!:o( Hope you have a wonderful day at home with your babies.

ps gotta love Goodwill- you get some great (cheap) stuff there!
I think we kind of need that time to help us remember how special they are, sometimes in the day to day stuff, we get frustrated and annoyed and take them for granted. It is also the hardest thing to do!!
That is so cute!! Your time with Jeremy and your friends (and even alone time shopping - hallelujah) sounded wonderful, but I do know what you mean about missing those babies!!
I even have taken Timmy out of MDO because I just miss him too much!!
